I have installed a new system, called ant, for building the lcd.jar file. For the moment the old method of using jmk still works, but jmk will soon be removed. ant is very similar to jmk, but is now better supported and is becoming the defacto standard "make" tool for Java.
To build lcd.jar you now need to do the following:
Unix:
setenv JDK_HOME [log in to unmask]
setenv LCD_HOME ~/projects/lcd
tools/ant <-- builds lcd.jar
toos/ant doc <-- builds the documentation tree
tools/ant clean <-- clean up
Windows:
set JDK_HOME=c:\java\jdk1.3
set LCD_HOME=c:\tony\projects\lcd
tools\ant <-- builds lcd.jar
tools\ant doc <-- builds the documentation tree
tools\ant clean <-- clean up
Note that ant puts the lcd.jar file in the lib directory (instead of at the top level as jmk did). Also the documentation built by ant includes links where approrpiate to the java jdk documentation, the jas documenation, and the source code.
Let me know if you have problems with this new setup.
