Dear Colleagues,
We are planning an international session at Durham with
remote video/phone access to discuss the developing plans
for using test beams for LC R&D. Hopefully, this session
will help with coordination of the various test beam efforts
and to develop strategies for support. It is scheduled nominally
for 2 hours, starting at
13.30 UK SUMMER TIME on Thursday September 2nd.
The session will focus on calorimeter R&D, but we would
also like to hear summaries of plans from others (the "plus").
We hope to hear short updates on plans from representatives of
each major calorimeter R&D effort from each region, to
discuss strategies for gaining funding, and to leave some
time for discussion.
Agenda outline:
Calorimeter test beam plans
1-2 reports from each region, 5-10' each
Tracking/vertexing plans 10'
IPBI plans 10'
Muon plans 5'
Facilities: Summary and updates 10'
Funding: plans and proposals 15'
General discussion, AOB
A good summary of test beam requirements and facilities
has been provided by the world-wide test beam study group:

We plan to pull this together in the next few days.
Hope to hear/see you at Durham,
