It compiled ok in
CERN E. Linux release 3 (NoName [test])
2.4.21-9.0.1.ELsmp
gcc version 3.2.3 20030502 (Red Hat Linux 3.2.3-24)
so big difference from Fedora ? ah! the kernel 2.4 instead of 2.6... sigh!
but my previous version of xrootd compiled even in fedora core 2 with
kernel 2.6...
