Hi,
as a follow-up Concezio, Francesca and myself had a discussion.
Concezio will give a short status report on Monday in the AWG meeting.
Here is the tentative time schedule/working agenda:
0. Content of the publication: We want to have results for
* mX-q^2
* mX
* P+
* difference in charged and neutral B's
Concerning quoting the result we intend to show them for
* SF parameters obtained from b->s gamma + b->clnu moments
* SF parameters obtained from b->s gamma spectrum
* mX-q^2: results quoted for different regions that can be
used by B->Xsll
* For HFAG purposes (not in paper): separate numbers for
b->s gamma + b->clnu moments
1. Improve our mES fit procedure!
This might solve various open problems we have seen:
- problems in 1-bin unfolding
- instabilities in mm^2 scans
- unphysically large differences in B+ and B0 partial BF's
This is the bottle-neck of the analysis.
Concezio and Roberto will keep in close contact and try to
settle this as fast as possible.
We are proposing to meet next Thursday instead of Tuesday since Concezio
is travelling next Tuesday. The same we want to do in the next-to-next
week. If 8:45 for next two Thursday's imposes a problem please speak up!
Otherwise I will shift the phone conference reservations for the next
two weeks to Thursday.
2. Once the m_ES fit procedure is settled which is hopefully the case on
the time scale of 1-2 weeks we need to decide on the neutral & track
selection. For this we need to redo the mm^2 scans. Roberto, what is
your time estimate for doing this?
3. Systematics
a) During 1. & 2. Wolfgang can improve on the PID systematics procedure.
b) Kerstin: Is it possible to use the code as it is we are using for
re-weighting the multiplicity categories to apply it on the analysis?
If so, we could reduce the hadronization uncertainty without too much
code development. Otherwise we should stick to the more conservative
treatment.
c) Klong: Wolfgang, do you have any news from David?
If there is nothing avaiable very soon we have to stick to
the old recipe.
d) Running the systematics is expected to take about 1 week.
I assume this is shared at least by Roberto and Wolfgang.
What about the availability of Antonio?
4. Documentation:
1) BAD: volunteer?
2) PRL draft: Heiko volunteering
If there are additional inputs for Concezio please let him know in time.
Cheers,
Heiko
