ATLAS SCCS Planning 13Jun2007
-----------------------------

  9am, SCCS Conf Rm A, to call in +1 510 665 5437, press 1, 3935#

Present: Chuck, iLen, Wei, JohnB, Richard, Booker, Tofigh, Stephen

Agenda:

1. DQ2 Status/Web Proxy

There will be an upgrade version soon. Deploying 0.3 at BNL and
subscribing 10k files to SLAC as a stress test. The actual switch
should next week. However, many people will be at Indiana.

2. Tier-2 Hardware

Yesterday stress test was going on of the 78 machines. 5 have to be
sent back to the manufacturer. The stress test should have finished
yesterday evening so may be able to put them in today. They are now
defined in LSF and should get in after the taylor run tonight.

3. RHEL4 Platforms

All machines have 64bit RHEL4. Paul N. ran some jobs and it worked
fine. DavidQ also said it was okay to run SLC3 12.x.y binaries on
them. For building locally the yakut machines are okay as the
difference between SLC and SL are not worth worrying about.

David Quarrie said that we can build 32bit applications on the 64bit
OS.
When folk at SLAC tried to this it seemed difficult to figure out
which 32bit development RPMs are needed. ATLAS has a Wiki page with
    a list that might be what is needed;

    https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/Atlas/RPMcompatSLC4

Were planning on putting some 32bit SL4 machines in the bldrecoq
(will use a LSF resource to select 32 or 64) for BaBar and
expanding the yakut pool with both 32bit and 64bit. The pool names
will become rhel4-32 etc. Not sure when this has happened as it has
been delayed due to power problems.

4. AOB

    - Upcoming meetings

Wei and many folk away next week. Also 4th July holiday coming
up. 27th has folk away too. Will decide on the Tuesday before if
we should have an actual meeting or just a virtual one for next
      few weeks.
