According to the network traffic at SLAC Internet gateway (to ESnet),
http://www.slac.stanford.edu/comp/net/external-links/html/SLAC-Internet-Links.html
SLAC is currently using less than 50% of its 2GB (1GB + 1GB) link to
ESnet. This includes the 150-250 Mbit/s used by ATLAS network test right
now. So I think it is safe to raise the ATLAS network bandwidth usage to
400-500 Mbit/s.
The traffic between SLAC and BNL will involve multiple hosts at each end
so it is likely that traffic will be spread out to the two 1Gb links
(and we will monitor the load). We can pull out some of our gridFTP
hosts to reduce the traffic if there are serious impact to other users.
