Dear Colleagues,
Here is a brief update on where I think we are with the LOI
benchmarking sample. Please note that this is only a portion,
albeit a large portion, of the necessary simulation and
reconstruction work necessary for the LOI. It also is not
the end of the story for these events, since the reconstruction
only produces "primitives", i.e. collections of primary
ReconstructedParticle (tracks+clusters & clusters). The job
of jet-finding, vertexing, flavor-tagging, etc. is still to
be done by the benchmarking group. Nevertheless, I thought it
prudent to let people know that progress is being made.
Recall that files contain 1000 events.
1.) ILC250 SM Sample
7879 stdhep files
7773 slic files
7066 reco files
2.) ILC250 Higgs
120 GeV Sample
264 stdhep files
264 slic files
216 reco files
119.5 GeV Sample
This sample has not yet been generated.
3.) ILC500 SM Sample
7199 stdhep files
7199 slic files
This sample is being processed through reco at both
SLAC and Fermilab.
4.) ILC500 tau Sample
3162 stdhep files
3160 slic files
This sample is being processed through reco at SLAC.
5.) ILC500 six fermion
mtop174.0
1112 stdhep files
1110 slic files
This sample will be processed through reco at RAL.
mtop173.5
1112 stdhep files
1110 slic files
This sample will be processed through reco at RAL.
6.) ILC500 SUSY Sample
Most of the primary whizard files have been generated at DESY.
However, a number of final state channels are still being generated.
Once this is done, the "derived" files will have to be generated and
pushed through slic and reco.
Still to come are the beam backgrounds (pairs, mumu and gg->hadrons).
Also, samples needed for subdetector performance characterization
need to be defined. Please give this some thought.
I have not yet completed a full inventory of the slic and reco
outputs. Some number of the jobs have failed along the way and will
be recovered at the end.
Details can, of course, be found on the following confluence page:
http://confluence.slac.stanford.edu/display/ilc/Standard+Model+Data+Samples
I would appreciate having as many people as possible look over the
output files and report any oddness as soon as possible.
If you were expecting data samples that are not on this list, or notice
anything missing, please also let me know.
Just a reminder that the power will be out at SCCS on Tuesday,
so the data disks will be unavailable.
