Dear All,
If you have not seen this the new CERN DG gave a talk on Monday 12-Jan-09
which may be of interest. The URL is in the message below.
Mentioned are the boundary conditions necessary for LHC beam in 2009 as
well as a longer term prospectus for broader international collaborations
and the role that CERN may play.
Apologies for any double mailings.
Best regards,
Frank

Subject: CERN DG's presentation yesterday; Priority issues of the community
Dear US LHC Community Members,
For those of you who have not seen it, here are the slides of the new CERN
DG Rolf Heuer's presentation yesterday :
http://indico.cern.ch/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=46437
There is also a video of the presentation.
Word is that the presentation was very well received by many people
at CERN.
(Thanks to Adi Bornheim for this pointer.)
...
Note that one item emphasized is for members of the CERN community to
raise their "priority" issues with their representatives to the Advisory
Committee of CERN Users (ACCU). Our representative is Darin Acosta
([log in to unmask]).
As noted at our website www.usluo.org we may conduct
a survey of US LUO, but for now please feel free to raise any issue you
consider important with Darin, myself, or another member of the US LUO
Executive Committee.
Best regards
Harvey
