Dear All,
I'm sure you've heard the news - ATLAS has now seem 'splash' events - much
excitment and anticipation for collisions soon. Collisions will be new
territory ...
PS: I'm now back in the US and will be at MIT the week after Thanksgiving
and all of you have a good holiday.

Subject: First beam splashes in 2009
Dear Colleagues,
ATLAS has recorded successfully the first beam-splash events
of 2009. You can admire them at the following sites:
http://atlas.web.cern.ch/Atlas/public/EVTDISPLAY/events.html
https://atlas-live.cern.ch
Keep an eye on these sites, as they will be refreshed regularly.
This very exciting moment and great achievement for
the machine and our experiment are the results of the
outstanding work of many people !
Kind regards
