Follow-up Comment #1, sr #119348 (project xrootd):
One of the routers on the way seems to be dropping connections that are idle
for 20-30 seconds. I wouldn't consider this a normal behaviour because by
default the TCP stack in Linux starts its keepalive procedures after 7200
seconds of the connection being idle. Immediate solution for Linux clients
would be:
echo 10 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_keepalive_time
echo 10 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_keepalive_intvl
Can you confirm?
This looks like a faulty/overloaded router on the way. I need some time to
think how to properly solve this issue in the client or whether we want to
solve it at all...
