Hi Doug,
Mea Culpa! In my attempt to remove static objects in order to allow clean
shared library builds I forgot to initialize a pointer. That would be the
easy one line fix. But looking at the code, that fix is pretty cruddy
because it leaves some relatively obscure looking code. The appropriate
fix it remove the pointer. I will work on this today and should have
something in certainly by Monday AM CERN time.
