Follow-up Comment #2, bug #87507 (project xrootd):
No need to provide a core file; I see the problem. When the packaging
switched to shared libraries it becomes unclear what object is initialized at
what point. That means that objects need to be initialized manually by the
user of the object because static members may or may not have been
initialized by what appears to be the static predecessor object. So, a fix
will be coming that does not rely on the shared library dependency chain.
Sort of sucks but that's what happens when you switch to a full shared
library packaging.
