Details:
Currently there is no way to know from detailed monitoring stream if a server
has been restarted. It is somewhat indicative that a new server pops up at the
same host but I can not know if several instances are running at this host
(this will probably become even more common with local proxies / caching
proxies).
So, could a server send a suicide letter as part of the regular shutdown
sequence? This would allow us to promptly clean-up all sessions (now I wait
n-hours before I declare it dead).
