Hi Gentlemen,
My apologies for forgetting to send the LQS announcement this week.
As Peter says below, I'm at the Intensity Frontier workshop this
week. My DarkLight talk is at 2:00 PM today, so I could make an
LQS meeting until late anyway.
The IF workshop is well-attended. I counted at least 400 people at
the opening session yesterday, and I heard it was a sell-out crowd (they
had to cut off registration early).
Many interesting talks. Our DarkLight poster got a lot of good attention
last night. Folks kept coming by for three hours, asking questions. Some
of the folks that came by to talk were Roy Holt, Elena ? (grad student
wanting to join DarkLight soon), David Hitlin, Bill Wisniewski, Ted Lavine
of DOE, Jim Boyce, a guy from Mainz who says we shouldn't detect the recoil
proton (!), Bogdan of JLab, Michael Kohl (Hampton U), and many other postdocs
and others.
I'm glad I got to come to this.
Thank you,
--Ray
