I'm tempted to close this. But, for now, we will keep this open because I
don't understand the "@?" in the messages. Anyway,
The rule: u = /atlas/local/@=/ a
actually means that user x has all privileges only for files that begin with
"u = /atlas/local/x/". Note that means the the directory /atlas/local/x must
have been pre-created and user x has only default privilges to that
directory.
With this in mind, the permission errors that you see are to be expected. So,
I see nothing really wrong here.
