A couple of weeks ago I upgraded to xrootd 3.1.1 (more or less by
accident -- I hadn't planned on upgrading) from 3.0.5 and starting
seeing some problems. In hopes of solving those problems, I upgraded to
3.2.0. Aside from the bug in that version, I started having severe
performance problems. Total read throughput was down about a factor of
2, load average on the server was very high and I was getting large
numbers of timeouts looking for files that were on disk.
I downgraded to 3.1.0 this morning and it seems that my old performance
is back. Is there a configuration change required to get good
performance from 3.1.1 and higher or are there other reasons that could
be causing my poor performance with newer versions?
Thanks.
