Update of bug #95598 (project xrootd):
Status: None => Postponed

Follow-up Comment #1:
This is a known issue. None of the XrdSysDNS methods are IPV6 compatible. Our
plan is to replace XrdSysDNS with XrdSysNetAddr which will be fully IPV6
compliant and be much better structured than XrdSysDNS which, over the
decade, as gotten rather baroque.
The release meeting minutes indicate that this will be done for 4.0.0 Q1
2013. We will, of course, make XrdSysNetAddr available much earlier to allow
for plug-in writers to slowly switch over. XrdSysDNS will be maintained for
backward comparability but will never support IPV6 as this would simply be a
waste of time and promote convoluted code at this point.
