Hello,

Here are the minutes of yesterday phone meeting :

Participants:

Douglas Smith
Fabrice Jammes
Emmanuel Medernach

Minutes:

- Proposition to stop the integration in master branch of ticket/2416 and
continue on ticket/2511. Indeed it covers the same features, and more, with
Scons and its integrated templating system. So, the costly merge work should be
done only once. Douglas is ok with this, and if Daniel also agree, the merge
work for ticket 2511 could be done at SLAC.

- During our stay at SLAC in addition to understand the code better and
finish/validate our contributions, we would like with the help of Douglas and
Daniel, to install Qserv on 4 machines (1 master + 3 nodes) at IN2P3-LPC where
we are administrators, and then try to reinstall it on 4 other machines at
CC-IN2P3 where we will not have root access. Administrators from CC-IN2P3 plan
in the mid-term automatize the installation with Puppet in order to integrate it
to their administration system on 50 nodes for Summer 2012 data challenge. So
they wish to ensure that Qserv install is done without manual steps at all.

- CC-IN2P3 requested to use systems packages instead of TGZ archives
recompilation. Douglas informs us that system packages may not be up to date and
that they will not provide all functionnalities needed by Qserv for now. It is
understood that we are in development phase and we will ask understanding from
CC-IN2P3.

- Ask CC-IN2P3 to open its machine to gromit.slac.stanford.edu ( 134.79.140.49 )

- Account creation for F. Jammes and E. Medernach at SLAC on gromit in order to
contact our machines at IN2P3.

Regards,
