Follow-up Comment #9, bug #99858 (project xrootd):
Hi Lukasz and Ben, thanks for investigating.
Lukasz, I have been trying to add you to the allowed users on that machine
but I am having some (LDAP...) issues. It may well be that there is something
I ave not configured correctly (well the doc is very very limited...). The
procedure is essentially that described in
https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/ELFms/ELFmsZuulSLC6
Anyway, please note that /etc/ldap.conf does NOT exist on slc6hepos. But it
does NOT exist on lxplus6 either. I could not really figure out how the whole
ldap business is managed on slc6. I think you jave much more experience and
may find this out better. Note that on slc5 the ldap.conf file comes from
rpm -qf /etc/ldap.conf
nss_ldap-253-49.el5
But nss_ldap is not an available rpm on SLC6, it does not exist in
http://swrepsrv.cern.ch/swrep/x86_64_slc6/
So I would say:
- xrootd needs to be configured without looking for /etc/ldap.conf
- but I have no idea how it works on lxplus6 instead
- there may be also other problems on my machine as indeed I cannot grant you
access due to LDAP
I will probably open a SNOW ticket on my side. Hope this helps
Andrea
