Dear Colleagues,
The HEPAP Facilities Panel has released its report on
"Major High Energy Physics Facilities 2014-2024." This
will be used as "input to the prioritization of proposed
scientific user facilities for the Office of Science."
The list of facilities considered is:
• Facilities with CD-1 approval:
o Mu2e (IF)
o LBNE (IF)
o LSST (CF)
• Facilities in an advanced stage of development:
o High-Luminosity upgrade of LHC (EF)
Accelerator upgrade for the HL-LHC
ATLAS upgrade for the HL-LHC
CMS upgrade for the HL-LHC
o International Linear Collider (hosted in Japan) (EF)
ILC accelerator
ILC detectors
o Project X accelerator (IF)
• Facilities in conceptual development & next-generation facilities:
o New Project X experiments (IF)
o nuSTORM (IF)
o Third generation direct detection dark matter experiment(s) (CF)
o Next generation dark energy experiment (CF)
As this document represents an important part of the "Snowmass"
process, I encourage everyone to read the report, which is available
online at:
