Hi Kaustubh,

I am sorry to contribute only at the eleventh hour,
but did anyone look at the role of single top productiion +Z
as a background for non-standard top decays? That is t-channel
single top+Z gives a final state with a top+Z+jet, exactly as
the signal process of ttbar production with non-standard tbar decay.

We have a a paper on this, arXiv 1302.3856. its exact importance
as a background depends on the cuts used, but if a b quark is demanded
in the final state, it could be the largest background, and to the best of my
knowledge it is not taken into account in the experimental results or studies.

The corollary of this is that this production mode should be observed in
the current data.
                                            Best regards,

                                                  Keith
