Dear Colleagues,
Rika Takahashi, from the International Linear Collider Communications Group, has requested that physicists make short videos supporting the ILC. Please participate! The purpose of the videos is to make concrete that many people from the global physics community would like to come to Japan to work at the ILC. I understand from my Japanese colleagues that it is quite important to collect a large number of these videos.
Last Friday, we had a taping party at SLAC and collected 21 videos. Most of the people participating were students and postdocs from ATLAS, Theory, and Accelerator Research who hope to be active in high energy physics when the ILC is running. A few older folks, including Jogesh Pati, also contributed.
I encourage you to do the same. The videos should be personal, 1-2 minutes, beginning with "My name is xxx and I am from yyy University ... ".
More details of the video campaign are given at: http://newsline.linearcollider.org/2014/10/02/take-part-in-the-mylinearcollider-campaign/ . The web page describes what Takahashi-san is looking for in the videos, and gives instructions for upload. There is an example video by Hitoshi Murayama on this web site.
I hope this will be a fun exercise for you and your students.
Best wishes,
Michael
