Hi Jeremy,
You're right, the connectivity of the ifarm nodes seems to have changed since June. I was able to
check out and build the lcsim and hps distributions during the collaboration meeting.
When I now try to update the svn command times out.
Does anyone at Jlab know what changed, when and why?
Thanks,
Norman

Subject: building HPS Java @ JLAB
Hi,
I’m having an interesting time trying to build HPS Java on a JLAB machine using Java and Maven.
I try from ifarm where I find a 1.7 JDK in /usr but….
There is no internet access to any of the Maven repositories! (Everything outbound seems to be firewalled from there.)
So I try from jlabl1 where internet seems fine but there is no JDK installed under /usr so no javac is found to compile the modules.
Fun.
Anyone have any tips for doing this? (Our page on the Confluence seems to lack some detail here.)
Thanks.
—Jeremy
