The model follows more closely with such as a, "User's Technical Support Forum"

The PICMG management is fine with a private mail list for questions,
technical support etc. But we do ask that you continue to use the KAVI-based
PICMG IT system for meetings, meeting minutes, votes, important technical
decisions, etc. so we have a legal record of the committee's development
activity. This can help to protect everyone in the event of patent claims,
etc.
