Hi Attila,
I did not say that you use the old code out of choice. What I wanted
to say, and probably misspoke, is that all recent ROOT releases (last
half a year or so) build and work fine with XRootD 4. What they are
actually built against in ATLAS/LCG environment is something that I do
not control.
