That sounds like the only reasonable way of doing it. It looks like a
"stable" Ceph is at least a year away.

After discussing with the RedHat guys about their release plans for
CEPH (turns out that Giant won't be there neither for RHEL7 base nor for
EPEL7) and the CERN Tape team (which would likely be our largest client
for this stuff), I think that our most optimal choice is to disable
XrdCeph and provide the source RPM with an option to build with Ceph, if
all the dependencies are met at build time. Is it OK with everyone?
