The formula for use2014Gain=false (like all the formulas for
use2014Gain=false) was written for the test run. The 2.0 default value of
the pePerMeV constant is what was used for the test run MC; you can change
it in the steering file, or change the default in FADCEcalReadoutDriver if
you want.
The use2014Gain=true formula (ECalUtils.lightYield * ECalUtils.quantumEff
* ECalUtils.surfRatio) is the expected value for the new APDs. I would
rather not see this formula used for use2014Gain=false, since that
hard-codes this value into the simulation. This means we can't do test run
MC any more (not important, maybe), and means that you will need to change
the code again if at some point you get a better measurement of the light
yield from analysis. But up to you.
