Hi Doug,
Could you repeat the test using xrdfs instead? It may simply be a bug in the
old client.

Subject: weird behavior seen with xrootd redirector and xrootd data sever
Hi,
I am seeing some weird behavior between the redirector and a data server.
redirector hepatl10
dataserver hepatl22
The directory /atlas/local/user1test/testdir only exists on the data server
hepatl22
which is connected to the redirector hepatl10.
[user1test@hepatl10 root]$ xrd hepatl10 locateall /atlas/local/user1test
--- snip ---
------------- Location #6
InfoType: kXrdcLocDataServer
CanWrite: true
Location: '128.223.12.22:1094'
----
[user1test@hepatl10 root]$ host hepatl22.uoregon.edu
hepatl22.uoregon.edu has address 128.223.12.22
[user1test@hepatl10 ~]$ xrd hepatl10 locateall
/atlas/local/user1test/testdir
No matching files were found.
I can not see the directory /atlas/local/user1test/testdir using the
locateall command.
and yet -
[user1test@hepatl10 ~]$ xrd hepatl10 dirlistrec /atlas/local/user1test
-rw-(048) 10240000 2013-04-24 21:49:36
/atlas/local/user1test/test_file_copied.tmp
drwx(051) 4096 2015-04-06 05:07:56 /atlas/local/user1test/testdir
-rw-(048) 104857600 2015-04-06 04:43:34
/atlas/local/user1test/testdir/random-file.txt-hepatl10
-rw-(048) 104857600 2015-04-06 05:07:57
/atlas/local/user1test/testdir/random-file.txt-hepatl22-3
-rw-(048) 104857600 2015-04-06 04:43:23
/atlas/local/user1test/testdir/random-file.txt-hepatl22
If I query the dataserver directly it finds the directory -
[user1test@hepatl10 ~]$ xrd hepatl22 locateall
/atlas/local/user1test/testdir
------------- Location #1
InfoType: kXrdcLocDataServer
CanWrite: true
Location: '128.223.12.22:1094'
Thanks,
Doug
