Hi all

This email is for "FACET&Test Facilities" users who plan on coming to SLAC and need to collect a RWT or GERT dosimeter. (If you are receiving this email and you don't intend to be a user again, email me back so we can mark you as "gone" in our database).

As we are now in a new quarter (Jan-Mar) for RWT dosimeters which are exchanged every 3 months and a new year for GERT dosimeters which are exchanged every calendar year. All fourth quarter (Oct-Dec) RWT dosimeters have been handed over to RP and all 2015 GERT dosimeters have also been turned in.

Please collect new dosimeters from B235/Security when you arrive on site (if your training is up-to-date- otherwise pick up the dosimeter when your training is complete).

Radiation workers should check that they say RWT on them and not GERT or Visitor. We've had some problems with people having the wrong dosimeters in the past so it is important to check that your dosimeter matches your training.

When you hand the dosimeter back to your Point of Contact (there is a box for dosimeter return in NLCTA, the ESA counting house and also one in Christine's cubicle), make sure you put your name on it so it is identifiable. If you return to SLAC in the same quarter/year, you can reclaim the same dosimeter from the dosimeter return box.

Here is a link to instructions for arriving on site (and this page also links to a dosimetry FAQ). Let me know if it doesn't address your questions.

Cheers,
-Christine
