Subject: branch merged into trunk
Hi,
Annie’s work on the ECal geom dev branch is merged into trunk now, so it is ready for testing there.
The main class org.hps.detector.DetectorConverter should be used to convert to LCDD, as it supports setting the run number so the database conditions are available. The other converter will not work for this (there will be an obvious error about conditions system not being setup).
Perhaps we should work on a geometry using the new converter which exactly matches what we have been using for HPSEcal3. I think this would require dumping the current front and back crystal face positions to a text file so they could be loaded into a database. This could be made the default ‘run 0’ conditions or could be assigned a generic run range. Then the surveyed positions could be assigned to the actual run ranges from eng run 2015, etc. I think this would be good for testing/verification. It will be hard to know if we got everything exactly right if we do not try to match what we have (my opinion).
Let me know what you think….
