Gismo and GismoApps are going through a lot of change at the moment. I
apologise if that's caused you any difficulties. By the end of today
(7-Sep-1999) it should reach a point of at least partial stability with
the following characteristics:
Gismo (all comments apply to the -> dev <- branch):
---------------------------------------------------
1) Generation truncation problem fixed.
2) Track looping limit fixed.
3) All make files revised.
4) All dependence on "local" CLHEP removed. It now looks for the "official"
(i.e. pure CERN) version (/afs/slac.stanford.edu/g/nld/CLHEP/clhep-1.4.0.0)
5) Recompiled for all unix platforms.
6) NT version -not- recompiled (cvs cannot currently see the unix repository)
GismoApps (all comments apply to the -> dev <- branches):
---------------------------------------------------------
1) One or two minor tweaks to make it compatible with the Gismo and CLHEP
changes ... NOTHING ELSE!
2) All facilities recompiled in dev against dev Gismo for all unix platforms.
3) NT version -not- recompiled (cvs cannot currently see the unix repository)
Thus the executables in the dev branch:
$LCDROOT/GismoApps/bat/bat/dev/exe/`uname`/bat_bat.exe
$LCDROOT/GismoApps/win/win/dev/exe/`uname`/win_win.exe
-should- correspond to the executable Gary constructed and which we were
thinking of using to produce small scale datasets without the defects of
our first round attempts.
If you need to -develop- with this environment, I have constructed two files
to boot you into it. After you've logged in and run your DEC profile, you
will need to:
DEC> @$LCDROOT/dec_tables/Gismo/Gismo_xnm_dev
DEC> @$LCDROOT/dec_tables/GismoApps/GismoApps_dev
How we proceed from here to be decided!
Anthony Waite.
