Hi Ric, > - the total track energy seems to be the thing which is mostly correlated > with our problematic events, at least on the control sample. This is > probably a handle for further investigation but not a solution few days ago I performed a test applying a cut on etrk. I remind you that in the category nchg=1 and nneu>0 data and MC are very different on this variable (all plots are performed without any cut on prmm2): http://www.slac.stanford.edu/~daniele/vub/B0cate5/comparisonnorm5etrkallcuts.ps.gz and the data-mc agreement in mxhadfit (on this cat) is http://www.slac.stanford.edu/~daniele/vub/B0cate5/comparisonnorm5mxhadfitallcuts.ps.gz (lumi normalization) with an excess of 30-35 event in the region around 1.5-1.7 GeV Looking at the events with etrk<300 MeV the mxhadfit comparison in this category is http://www.slac.stanford.edu/~daniele/plotsetrkB0/comparisonnorm5mxhadfitallcuts.ps.gz Just a fraction of the excess seems to be related to this excess at zero in this variable.
