The fact that it gives the result as predicted by theorists is just because it is what theorists work with. Alessio seems to be saying that the q^2 dependence is spoiled by the fact that we have to take into account the resonances. I must admit that since at high q^2 the resonant component dominates I would have expected the contrary.
