Dear Colleagues, We would like to announce the start of a forum system to discuss Linear Collider software related issues. For quite some time the communication between users and developers of software for the different linear collider studies has relied on informal mailings, meetings and word of mouth. To improve the situation, the American and the European simulation groups have started using a forum system. This system is being used to communicate and exchange information on different tools, announce new releases, and in general improve the communication. The forum can be found at http://forum.linearcollider.org . It is quite easy to use - so please try it out, post your questions, comments and your experiences, whether good or bad. At the moment the main use of the system is to discuss LCIO, the common data model and persistency framework. Other forums have been set up and are awaiting your input. Your suggestions for additional forums are also welcomed. We'd like to take this opportunity to announce that LCIO version 1.0 has been released and is available for people to use. LCIO is available from http://lcio.desy.de . Ties Behnke and Norman Graf for the simulation groups
