Dear members of the ALCPG LC community, Following the technology recommendation and in the context of the LC detector world wide study (WWS) and global design initiative (GDI), a workshop dedicated to the machine-detector interface (MDI) will take place at SLAC January 6-8, 2005 - please see the announcement at: http://www-conf.slac.stanford.edu/mdi/default.htm As you know MDI questions have a strong impact on the design of both the LC machine and its detectors. The aims of this workshop are in particular to review MDI issues on the critical path towards a global LC design, form international sub-groups to pursue individual topics and identify available and needed resources. The detailed program and organization of the sessions are being discussed in close coordination between several members of the detector WWS and in the working group on beam delivery at the upcoming ILC KEK November 13-15 workshop. If this activity concerns you or if you would like to get involved from the machine and/or the detector side(s), please register indicating your area of interest and whether you would like to make a presentation. Some of you may also be asked to help organize one of the sessions and will be contacted directly for that. Sincerely yours, Eric Torrence, for the international program committee.
