Hi Gregory, You can tell how much memory is being used by using top which will show you toal memory and how much is used by xrootd/olbd. It's rather off that a redirector is using much memory. Is it really the case that the redirector is babar2 or is it the actual server? What we've found is that it's not a memory issue usually but that enough swap space was not allocated on the machine. You can only tell that by looking at *both* the xrootd log as well as /var/adm/messages at the time the error occured. That will tell you what the system is complaining about. The problem is more prevalent in Solaris than in Linux (I'm not sure what kind of system you are using).
