I think that for recent xrootd clients like the current development
versions one should (also) put in KanAccess.cfg something like:
rootenv XNet.ConnectDomainAllowRE fzk.de|gridka.de
rootenv XNet.RedirDomainAllowRE fzk.de|gridka.de
