  Hi Andy,

  Enrica noticed that one of the xrootd daemons at CNAF crashed the other
day, leaving behind a core file. (Enrica, I assume that it was just
automatically restarted so any clients would have just proceeded?)

  They are running the current production version (20050328-0656). The
traceback is:

#0  0x08072671 in XrdProtocol_Select::Process ()
#1  0x0806d626 in XrdLink::DoIt ()
#2  0x080739c0 in XrdScheduler::Run ()
#3  0x08072a20 in XrdStartWorking ()
#4  0x0807f4c2 in XrdOucThread_Xeq ()
#5  0x00be0dec in start_thread () from /lib/tls/libpthread.so.0
#6  0x001eda2a in clone () from /lib/tls/libc.so.6

  It looks like the crash which Dan Bradley reported (which is fixed in
the development version), but in the case where you want to take a look
I've put the core file and relevant binary here (at SLAC):

  /nfs/farm/babar/kanga04/elmer/xrootd.cnaf.050502.crash/
