Attention SLACers,
The SLAC vs the SLAC Summer Institute (SSI) soccer game is scheduled for 6:30 on Wednesday, August 3rd.
It will be held at
STANFORD IM SOUTH FIELDS
The fields are located at the intersection of El Camino Real and Churchill Street.
We will have a full field game with regulation goals and nets. If someone has corner flags, please bring them. They work lots better than the 2 ft tall orange cones we usually use.
I will referee the game (unless someone wants to volunteer to do a half). We do need volunteers for assistant referee to man the flags on the sidelines. You need to be able to see and you need to understand the offside rule.
Claire, would you or whoever has our yellow and blue pinneys bring them. They should help minimize the confusion on substitutions. Given our blue and yellow pinneys, it would be great if we had two contrasting goalkeeper jerseys. Unfortunately all my keeper jerseys are yellow.
I would appreciate some help putting up nets, aligning goals, marking field boundaries with cones, etc. Please show up 45 minutes early to help out with these tasks.
David Fryberger or another senior member of the SLAC Soccer Club will organize the SLAC team.
We usually have more than enough players so we need to make sure everyone gets a chance to play. Sometimes, if the SSI team is short on players, we make up the shortage with our subs.
