Norman Graf SLAC Staff Physicist - Experimental Particle Physics/Computing Silicon Detector for ILC (030416) The Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) is seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and accomplished particle physicist with significant experience in computing, software development, and detector and physics simulation. This individual will help lead and grow the simulation/reconstruction group for the Silicon Detector (SiD), one of four detector concepts being advanced internationally for the ILC. The successful candidate will participate fully in optimizing the SiD detector design and benchmarking its performance, and may also contribute to state of the art detector R&D and beam tests. He/she will develop software in the lcsim.org simulation framework, support the general SiD computing infrastructure, create and refine reconstruction algorithms, and explore ILC physics possibilities. A Ph.D. in Particle Physics, a track-record in HEP computing and simulation, and significant accomplishment in analyzing particle physics data are required. The ability to work collaboratively with others, and the desire and skill to lead effectively are also prerequisite.
