Present: Booker, Len, Wei, Charlie, Richard

Agenda:

1. DQ2 Status/Web Proxy

Running smoothly, hasn't run out of space so far. According to today's F&O phone meeting, there will be another (very simple) patch to DQ2 site service to allow alternative stoage end points (with alternative gsiftp/srm).

2. Tier-2 Hardware

Storage:

Power, network, console are ready for thumper boxes. Installing OS installation. Their names are wain003,4,5. Atl-prod03,04 are ready and will be used for XROOTD redirector and DQ2 db, etc.

Since ATLAS storage will be online soon, how do we divide the space for production and local user? Richard suggested 50:50 and remain so until production run short on space. Will the local user go with xrootd as well, or NFS?

Batch nodes:

Water cooling rack construction has started. Expect to be ready by the end of May. Power outage is scheduled to provide power to these racks at next Tuesday (May 1). ATLAS batch nodes will use these racks.

3. xrootd/srm

Booker has put in a request for a machine to run SL(C)4 and Storm (INFN srm)

4. AFS Problems causing jobs to intermittently fail

Renata warns that Babar activites will effect Atlas performance. Atlas local users should e-mail HN or unix-admin if see slowness.

Len suggests that before we make many replicas for Atlas AFS volumes, Atlas should make sure that the top level volume (/afs/slac/g/atlas) should be really small with only a few readme-like files and directories (other larger volumes should be mounted at those dirs), and won't change frequently. And make replicas for this top level volume if needed. Otherwise it can be a bottleneck in the future.

5. AOB

Wei forwarded the new Tier 2 web site to this list for review. Got feedback from Charlie and Gorden Watts.

Wei will contact David Quarrie and Fred Luehring about RHEL4 validation.

         061213 Nothing happened yet.
         070103 No information.
070110 Richard & BobC in Denver, Stephen will email them.
         070124 Don't know the status.
         070131 Don't believe this happened.
070207 Have not done this. Randy has talked to Heather, didn't
have any time to comment today but she is aware about
it. Will treat each VO as an enclave, if you are using
anonymous accounts need to be able to show how ran a job
and when. The main issue is that VOs are not legal
entities and anyone can declare themselves a VO. Would
need to actually test that the required information can
  	      actually be found.
