Dear colleague, we would like to invite you to the first ILD workshop which will take place in Zeuthen, close to Berlin, Germany, between Jan 14 and Jan 16, 2008. The meeting is scheduled to start around noon of Mon, Jan 14, and run until the afternoon of Wednesday, Jan 16. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the state of ILD, and to plan the work towards the LOI, which is scheduled to be submitted on October 1, 2008. The meeting is open to everyone interested in the ILD detector at the ILC. The meeting will be mostly plenary, with discussions on the layout of the detector, its integration into the ILC machine, and the ongoing optimization studies for ILD. Within the next few days, a web page with details about the this meeting, the possibility to register and other information will become available. We are looking forward to welcome you at this meeting, and hope for a good and fruitful discussion in Zeuthen.
