Minutes of ATLAS-SCCS planning meeting / Mar. 19, 2008

1. Tier-2 Operations (Panda & pAthena)
No issues. Everything running smoothly.
2. FDR-2 Readiness
The start date is still scheduled as the week of May 19.
The amount of data that will be generated has not yet
been fully decided. Expected to be in tens of TB.
3. Tier-2 Infrastructure and Hardware
Power outage of BlackBox1 (Apr.15-16) for BB2 hookup.
Main Building outage: Fri/Apr.25 evening through Apr.27.
Wei will inform GRID operations of the outages.
Thumper installation is imminent. Randy consulted with
ATLAS/BABAR/GLAST to come up with the minimum number
units that need to be up by the end of April:
1 for ATLAS, 1 for BABAR, 2 for GLAST (one by Apr.15).
More will be available of course with faster install.
4. AOB
Work on SRM/static space token in LBL's bestman-xrootd,
and SRM for GPFS users, mentioned last week still going
on (Wei, Andy)
Problem of xrootd client being swamped by too many AFS
parallel connections and crashing, now fixed (Andy)
Next meeting will be Wed. April 16.
