Hi Everyone,

Our next LQS group meeting will be Tuesday, May 13, at 3 PM Eastern/12 noon
Pacific. Those of us at MIT can meet in the LNS conference room; those at
SLAC, in the MIT office in the Central Lab Annex.

Dial-in: 510-665-5437, passcode 7336.

Agenda:

   1) Round-the-table updates.
   2) For discussion: "Non-critically squeezed light via spontaneous
      retational symmetry breaking", http://arxiv.org/abs/0709.0212 (v4).
See also the Phys Rev Focus online article at
      http://focus.aps.org/story/v21/st16. Highlights: pushing the
Heisenberg uncertainty principle to its limits along with spontaneous
breaking of rotational symmetry in an optical cavity. Also interesting
is the robustness of the effect against imperfections in the
cavity walls and insensitivity to the driving laser's intensity levels.

Thanks much,
--Ray
