1. Tier-2 Production/Operation
- US ATLAS grid jobs are being submitted again.
400-500 jobs running at SLAC last few days
- A decision has been made to host ATLAS conditions DB at SLAC.
Wei will work with BNLT-1/CERN to implement and download
the conditions database files.
- BaBar will kindly lend an Oracle server that they are holding
as a backup. It's a Sun Sparc machine with 2 GB memory.
Oracle 10G is compatible with ATLAS
- WT2 name change happened yesterday (July 12, 2008)
There will be some fallouts...
2. Tier-2 Hardware/infrastructure
- A new machine to hold local copy of Oracle Conditions DB
will be purchased. Chuck will spec out the configuration
and cost. 4 Internal 36 GB hard disk is minimum.
- Waiting for the machine and 1/2 of Thumper purchased for
local ATLAS users. KIPAC has not finished swapping out
disks from the borrowed Thumper.
