Dear Colleagues, This is to announce the first public release of the SiD Letter of Intent. This document summarizes the motives, designs, detector technologies, performance, and cost of the Silicon Detector for the Linear Collider. The editors of the document, Hiro Aihara, Phil Burrows, and Mark Oreglia, have just made a draft of the SiD LoI available. Those who have an interest in the SiD Concept, and can look forward to future contributions to the SiD Design Study, are most welcome to join the list of co-signers.
