Hi Everyone, Steve Chu gave a nearly two-hour talk at SLAC this morning on energy resources and climate change. I made an mp3 recording which is available at http://www.slac.stanford.edu/~rfc/Steven_Chu_at_SLAC_26Jun2009.mp3 The talk was accompanied by PowerPoint slides (which I don't have). There was a brief Q&A session at the end. The talk was entirely on global climate change and national energy issues, resources, plans, etc. No mention at all of HEP (or any other specific field, either, for that matter). He did say that Obama's ten-year plan is to double (I think it was) the DoE's Office of Science budget, with the bulk of the increase going to basic research. Thanks, --Ray
