----------------------------------------------------

  9am, SCCS Conf Rm A, to call in +1 510 665 5437, press 1, 3935#
Present: Wei, Peter, Booker, Richard, Stefan

Agenda:

1. Status of WT2 2009 hardware

   - With default allocation of 2/3 Storage and 1/3 CPU,
the following have been purchased ($400k).

      DELL Poweredge R410, 2.8 GHz 8-core, 24G memory
      SUN X4540 Thor, 48 1-TB disks, 2.7GHz quad-core (10 units)

  - All CPUs and disk storage have been delivered to SLAC.
Work is ongoing to install them; allocate rack space, power,
cooling, etc. The plan is to have them ready for use before
ATLAS data arrives, with a higher priority given to the storage.

2. Tier-2 Production and Operations

  - No issues with PANDA operations at SLAC.
The problem with GRID certificates was traced to westgrid.ca.
(triumf.ca is fine.). SRM service at LBNL and BNL folks are
    looking into the problem.

  - OSG upgrade completed; it requires lots of hands-on work
by Booker and Wei once a year

  - New Frontier farm server has been installed. With 8GB memory
and 3 Gb internal channel, it functions fine. More units can be
    added as needed.

  - User Analysis Test (UAT) is scheduled for Oct. 22-24.
(It is now postponed to Oct. 28-30.)

3. Status of SLC5/RHEL5 for WT2

   - Wei reported that 100 CPUs in WT2 farm have been migrated
to REHL5-64, after validations by Booker and Wei. No issues
with PANDA operations on these machines.
Migration of the rest is to follow.
