Hi Everyone, We'll hold our weekly LQS meeting at 2 PM Eastern this Thursday, January 21. If time permits, we'll discuss the article by Mermin on the GHZ experiment (see below; it's also attached) to this message. Info: dial-in: 510-665-5437, passcode 7336 website: http://dmtpc.mit.edu/MaKaC/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=260 Agenda: 1) Round-table reports and updates on activities. 2) Paper discussion: "What's Wrong with these elements of reality?" by David Mermin (Physics Today, vol 43, June 1990, p. 9). This paper reviews the GHZ experiment (Greeberger, Horne, and Zeilinger) which is an easier to follow version non-localith than both Bell and EPR provide (at least, according to some). There is a related video by Sidney Coleman on the web called Quantum Mechanics In Your Face at http://media.physics.harvard.edu/video/index.php?id=SidneyColeman_QMIYF.flv Thank you, --Ray
