Dear all, A lot has happened since we selected XLDB4 dates back in February. Here are the most important highlights regarding the upcoming XLDB4 conference. You can find more details on the just-released website at: http://xldb.org/4 Dates and location ------------------ This year's XLDB event will be organized at SLAC on October 5-7: * October 5: *invitational* workshop (~60 attendees) * October 6-7: open conference Registration ------------ Registration for the conference is now open (see the website). If you are planning to attend, I'd recommend to register early, based on received feedback we think there is a chance we might reach the capacity of our auditorium quickly. Agenda ------ Draft agendas for both the conference and the workshop are available at: http://www-conf.slac.stanford.edu/xldb10/Program.asp http://www-conf.slac.stanford.edu/xldb10/WProgram.asp Workshop -------- As in the past, this year's workshop will be by-invitation-only. We expect to start sending out invitations later this month (June). We are still looking for more experts, in particular in the area of medical/bioinformatics, oil/gas and finance, so if you know anyone we should consider inviting, please let me know. Sponsoring ---------- We are looking for several sponsors. If your organization would be interested in sponsoring XLDB4 events, please see: http://www-conf.slac.stanford.edu/xldb10/ForSponsors.asp Call for lightning talks ----------------------- We have reserved several five-minute slots at the conference for selected lightning talks. If you are interested in speaking during one of these slots, you should send us a short abstract.
